Silent is very experienced in handling project cargo, whether it be the re-location of a factory; the movement of oversized cargo, such as generators or large earth-moving equipment, or an ongoing project involving multiple movements of all sizes.

Silent Air and Sea are members of XLP Projects network and OPCA ( Overseas Project Cargo Agents). Only companies with the capability to handle oversized cargo that requires specific handling and project management are accepted in these networks.

Our global network of agents allows us to deal with any border/customs/documentation issues ensuring that your project is delivered on time every time. We have a dedicated project shipment management team that can handle your request.

EXAMPLES OF PROJECTS WE HAVE WORKED ON

PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT PROJECT

Our customer required the shipment to be delivered to a Ski Resort in Wyoming, USA. The shipment was too big to be containerised and shipping on Flat-Rack containers would have been prohibitively expensive. We were able to recommend and arrange shipping on a faster Roll-on Roll-off service to Tacoma and then organised Customs clearance and onward delivery to site through our network of agents.

HELICOPTER PROJECT

Silent have experience with arranging shipment of Helicopters to worldwide destinations using RoRo services. We work with specialised hauliers in the UK who can arrange delivery to Port and Carriers familiar and experienced in moving Helicopters.

AUSTRALIA CONSTRUCTION PROJECT

Silent were appointed to ship several fully built JCB machines out to Sydney for a construction site. We can arrange shipment of oversized mobile & tracked earth moving and heavy equipment as RoRo, Breakbulk or as out of gauge cargo on Flat-Rack Containers. We can arrange collections, loading, lashing & container shunts as required.

XLP PROJECT DELIVERY OF FIVE MIXER TANKS

As UK members of the XLP Project forwarding network Silent Air and Sea were appointed by our USA agent to oversee the delivery/handling and lashing of five mixer tanks for a plant delivery in the USA. The tanks were transported from a facility in Scotland to Southampton for loading and lashing onto flat rack containers. As the tanks were OOG (Out of gauge) they required special handling and co-ordination to ensure they were transported to dockside to meet the sailing deadline. The whole process was expertly handled by our team and the end customer was very satisfied with the service provided.

NEW HOLLAND TRACTOR PROJECT

Silent Transport were nominated by their agent in Belgium to handle the shipment of tractors to Mauritius. It required specific co-ordination to ensure that Flat Rack containers were available at the port prior to loading/lashing and shipping. The project is ongoing and the business has been handled exceptionally well throughout. Our project division department handle shipments on a daily basis that require care and attention.
